VILNIUS - The European Commission has approved an additional 153 million euros in funding for Lithuania under the European Union’s Recovery and Resilience Facility.

The funds are tentatively scheduled to be disbursed in July following deliberations in European Union Council committees, the Ministry of Finance said.

The government submitted its sixth payment request for 153 million euros (178 million euros before advance deduction) at the end of March. This request covers 18 milestones across healthcare, sustainable electricity production, building renovation, public and private sector digitisation, and the reduction of social exclusion and income inequality.

Currently, project contracts worth 3.72 billion euros have been signed, representing 97 percent of the plan’s total funds. Project promoters have already received 2.408 billion euros (63 percent).

To date, Lithuania has received a total of 2.69 billion euros under the Recovery and Resilience Facility plan, including advances, and has fulfilled 129 out of 197 milestones (65 percent) for the Commission.

Lithuania’s final payment request will be submitted in September, covering the remaining 68 milestones of the plan.
