VILNIUS - A total of 100 trucks previously detained by Minsk have returned to Lithuania from Belarus via the Medininkai and Salcininkai border crossings as of Thursday morning, the State Border Guard Service said.

State Border Guard Service spokesperson Giedrius Misutis reported that 42 vehicles released from special parking lots in Belarus crossed the border over the past 24 hours. Since midnight alone, 25 trucks have returned, all entering through the Salcininkai checkpoint.

"The flow is now quite significant," Misutis said.

According to him, 45 trucks returned through the Medininkai border point, while 55 crossed at Salcininkai.

He added that 89 of the returning trucks were driven by Belarusian citizens holding Lithuanian residence permits.
