Roadgames invites adventurers to participate in the 7-hour

  • 2022-08-05

The game development company Roadgames invites you to become part of the most ambitious car-orienteering competition in the Baltics for adventurers – “Viljandi - Valmiera 2022”. On September 3, from 10:00 to 17:00, you will complete a series of interactive tasks and collect prizes from Roadgames friends. Together with the team, you will have to search for augmented reality safes, collect as many virtual diamonds as possible, find unique environmental elements and complete other creative challenges. The highlight of the event - the live announcement of the winners - will take place on September 3 at 21:00 on the Roadgames YouTube channel. Tickets are available in advance on the Roadgames website.

This is the second international car orienteering race organised by Roadgames. In 2021, the coastal cities on the Baltic Sea of Latvia and Lithuania - Liepaja and Klaipeda - were chosen. 365 teams took part and combined their efforts to master 24 959 tasks.

About the experience of the last years, Krisjanis from the team “Pirma Reize” says: "The most important thing that attracts is the Groupie tasks, the Sprinters and the fact that 100, 200 and now even 300 teams take part, which doesn't exist in any other similar game. It's a great day, super emotions, getting out of your comfort zone, meeting other teams and discovering new places."

Almost 200 teams are already preparing for the start and the number of participants continues to grow. To participate in the race, a team of up to five people must be formed and each participant must download the Roadgames app. On the morning of September 3, the team must go to the starting location of their choice to prepare for the start of the race.

As the goal is to collect as many points as possible in seven hours, teams need to prepare with a real champion's attitude by researching locations in advance, planning a route and assigning roles and responsibilities. Teams will have to complete a series of exciting tasks, such as finding augmented treasure boxes, collecting virtual diamonds as they run, and finding a range of familiar and lesser-known but notable elements of the environment. The winners of the race will be announced on September 3 at 21:00 during an online awards ceremony on the YouTube channel.

The best will receive prizes from Roadgames friends - Circle K and Balta Biete - and prize partners: Wolt, Valmiermuiža, Kokmuiža, Rixwell Hotels, Stena Line, SPA hotel Ezeri, Brain Games, Sigulda Adventures, Pärnamäed, CityBee, Sportland, Skriveru saldumi, My Fitness, Rīgas Dzirnavnieks, Hanzas Maiznīca, Getify, Virsotne un Mītavas čiekurs.
