Nordale Pagalms invites guests to celebrate its longest-ever apple pie

  • 2026-10-06

This Sunday, 11 October, from 13:00 to 16:00, Nordale Pagalms at Šmerļa iela 3 k-2 will host an autumn apple pie celebration centred around a specially made, six-metre-long apple pie – the longest one baked for the occasion to date. The pie is being created in collaboration with chef Raimonds Zommers and restaurant Entresol, and everyone is invited to come and enjoy a slice. The event is free of charge and will also feature a range of activities for families, as well as an apple pie recipe competition.

This time, apple pie has been chosen not only as a seasonal autumn treat, but also as a simple reason to gather around one table. The event aims to bring together local residents, other Riga residents and visitors to the city for a relaxed Sunday afternoon at Nordale Pagalms.

“We created Nordale Pagalms as a place for people – a Copenhagen-inspired outdoor meeting space surrounded by the greenery of Biķernieki forest, where neighbours and visitors can spend time together. To welcome the autumn season, we are bringing people together around a six-metre-long apple pie and inviting everyone to share their own favourite recipes as well. As a developer of homes and residential neighbourhoods, we believe our role goes beyond buildings – it is also about creating places and reasons for people to meet, connect and build a sense of community,” says Kristjan-Thor Vähi, Founder and CEO of Invego.

Families with children will be able to take part in a number of autumn-themed activities, including apple croquet, an apple tasting and face painting for children. Visitors will also be able to explore the Husqvarna stand, meet trained dogs, enjoy SALDS ice cream made in Latvia, and take part in the prize draw connected to the apple pie recipe competition.

The concept of Nordale Pagalms is inspired by Copenhagen’s urban environment and its characteristic public courtyards and pop-up formats, where city spaces become places for both everyday leisure and different events. In autumn, this atmosphere is complemented by another element strongly associated with Nordic culture – spending time together over warm drinks and cake around a shared table. Nordale Pagalms has been created as an open meeting place in Mežciems, where people can drop by in their everyday lives or host their own private events.

Submit your apple pie recipe by 10 October – win your own event at Nordale Pagalms and EUR 500 towards catering

Alongside the event, an apple pie recipe competition is taking place on social media. Until 23:59 on 10 October, everyone is invited to share their favourite apple pie recipe on Facebook or Instagram, tag @nordale.pagalms and use the hashtag #NordaleĀbolkūka.

The prize is an opportunity to host your own event at Nordale Pagalms, with Nordale Pagalms covering EUR 500 in catering costs for the event.

The prize draw will take place during the event and will include competition participants who have fulfilled the competition requirements, registered in advance and are present at the event on 11 October.

About Nordale Pagalms

Nordale Pagalms opened on 29 July this year. It is a meeting and event space for the future Nordale residential neighbourhood and also houses the project’s showroom and sales office, where visitors can learn more about the neighbourhood concept and available homes.

Nordale is being developed by Estonian real estate developer Invego, which brings Nordic lifestyle principles into its Riga projects – contemporary architecture, proximity to nature, high-quality public spaces and environments designed to encourage people to meet and spend time together. Nordale in Mežciems is planned as a multi-phase residential neighbourhood across an eight-hectare site. Nearly EUR 38 million is planned to be invested in the first phase of the project, which will include 159 homes and commercial premises.
