Yesterday, on 11 October, 200 guests came together at Nordale Pagalms in Riga to celebrate the autumn season around a specially baked, six-metre-long apple pie. Created in collaboration with chef Raimonds Zommers and restaurant Entresol, the pie became the centrepiece of a relaxed Sunday afternoon, bringing together local residents, families and visitors to enjoy seasonal treats, activities and time spent together.
The autumn celebration took place at Nordale Pagalms in Mežciems, where guests gathered around the long table to share a slice of apple pie and enjoy the atmosphere of a joyful autumn afternoon. Alongside the six-metre-long creation, visitors could take part in a range of activities, including apple croquet, apple tasting from Gāgas āboli and face painting for children. Guests also had the opportunity to explore the Husqvarna stand, M50 design shop stand, taste freshly brewed coffee from KAST coffee, and enjoy SALDS ice cream made in Latvia.
“At Invego, our aim is not simply to build homes, but to create environments that bring people together. That idea was at the heart of the biggest apple cake celebration event – inviting people to gather by the beautiful Biķernieki forest, share a six-metre-long apple pie and enjoy an autumn afternoon together. It was wonderful to see so many people spending time with their families, friends and neighbours, and we are truly delighted by the warm response and interest in the event. This is exactly what we had in mind when creating Nordale Pagalms – a welcoming place where people can meet, connect and enjoy time together,” says Kristjan-Thor Vähi, Founder and CEO of Invego.
The celebration also marked the conclusion of the apple pie recipe competition, which invited people to share their favourite recipes on social media. The main prize offered the opportunity to host a private event at Nordale Pagalms, with Nordale Pagalms covering EUR 500 in catering costs for the event.
Inspired by Copenhagen’s public courtyards and outdoor meeting spaces, Nordale Pagalms has been created as a place where people can come together beyond their everyday routines. Located near Biķernieki forest, the courtyard is open to local residents and visitors alike, offering a setting for informal gatherings, seasonal celebrations and private events.
