RIGA - A traditional pride parade will take place in the Latvian capital this Saturday as one of the concluding events of Riga Pride Week, the event's organizers informed LETA.

According to the organizers, the parade will celebrate the power of diversity and national unity, at the same time expressing support for "human rights at a time when they are under threat". Information tents, a shop and other activities will be available from 12 to 18 in Vermanes Garden, the traditional gathering place for participants of the pride parade.

The Riga Queer Tour, which is scheduled to take place by the Laima Clock in downtown Riga from 13 to 15 on Friday, will tell the queer history of Riga in English. The Place of Comfort party will start at 17 at the Art Academy of Latvia. On Friday, several events are also scheduled to take place at the Kanepe Culture Center, on the river boat Vecriga, in the Skapis bar and at 136 Krisjanis Barons Street.

The group exhibition "Trifles", which is open at the art gallery DOM until tomorrow, features personal artefacts of the Daugavpils queer community and their supporters as well as digital paintings by artist Erens Abramovs. Until June 29, the gallery Masa on Elizabetes Street will host the solo exhibition "Monster Girls" by Sintija 'Siins' Ukse.

This year's Riga Pride events will end on June 30.
