VILNIUS – Lithuanian MEPs are among the least-working in the European Parliament, the national television LRT's program Panorama reports, citing a website analyzing work statistics.

It turns out that none of the Lithuanian MEPs out of 850 colleagues got into the Top-100. And half of Lithuania's representatives mentioned among the least active MEPs, with Valdemar Tomasevski, leader of the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Christian Families Alliance, in the lead.

Experts say that some MEPs just simulate work due to low public interest in the European Parliament.

According to political scientist Ramunas Vilpisauskas, MEPs have little interest and often vote sticking to their political group's opinion, without going deeper in to the matter under consideration.
