This year’s ice cream season in Latvia is being launched with nine new and refreshing snacks and desserts from beloved local brands “Pols”, “Ekselence”, “Jungle Pop” and “Tio”. The new product range includes sweet cream and dairy ice creams, as well as refreshing fruit ice creams for children, including vegan options. Total investments in product development and market launch amount to approximately EUR 400,000.

“In developing this season’s new products, we focused strongly on what consumers today expect from ice cream: bold flavours, elements of surprise, nostalgia and joyful moments. Therefore, our new portfolio intentionally combines different flavour worlds, ranging from milk ice creams and creamy dessert-style innovations to playful and refreshing fruit ice creams for children and teenagers. At the same time, this is also a very special year for the ‘Pols’ brand, which is already celebrating its 55th anniversary, so we have prepared several more exciting surprises for consumers this season,” says Ģirts Liniņš, Marketing and New Product Development Manager at “Rīgas saldējuma fabrika”.

Four New Products from “Pols”

The legendary ice cream brand “Pols”, celebrating its 55th anniversary this year, has prepared four new products for the summer season. Two of them are available in waffle cones:

- A completely new “Pols” large homemade-style waffle cone featuring caramel ice cream with crunchy hazelnuts.

- Fans of refreshing flavours will enjoy the lemon-flavoured milk ice cream “Pols” in a waffle cone with lemon coating, offering a summery citrus flavour combination perfect for hot days.

In addition, two more special “Pols” ice creams have been created in honour of the brand’s 55th anniversary. More information about these products will follow separately very soon.

Two Sophisticated New Products from “Ekselence”

This year, the premium dessert ice cream brand “Ekselence” expands its range with two new products, placing particular emphasis on contrasting flavours and textures.

- The already consumer-favourite “Ekselence” vanilla dairy ice cream with raspberry and pomegranate filling is now also available in a crunchy waffle cone.

- Meanwhile, the “Ekselence” ice cream on stick with raspberries and white chocolate coating marks a special and sweet comeback, developed in response to consumer requests to return this beloved flavour to store shelves.

“Jungle Pop” Surprises with Two Vegan Innovations

To the delight of children, teenagers and vegan ice cream enthusiasts, the “Jungle Pop” range has been expanded this season with two new fruit ice creams.

- A standout innovation is the “Jungle Pop” “Tutti-Frutti” ice cream on stick, combining orange, lemon, strawberry and tropical fruit flavours to create a colourful and playful taste experience.

- Meanwhile, a new strawberry flavour joins the much-loved “Jungle Pop” squeezable ice pop line, adding a distinctly summery berry character.

The Legendary Caramel “Tio” Returns in a New Form

Latvia’s best-selling ice cream brand “Tio” has also introduced a delicious addition this year, as the beloved caramel ice cream returns to store shelves with a modernised and even creamier recipe. The new “Tio” milk caramel-flavoured ice cream in a waffle cup is enriched with boiled condensed milk, creating more pronounced caramel notes and a richer texture.

“The 2026 ice cream season marks a strategically important stage of development for us, as it is the first season that ‘Rīgas saldējuma fabrika’ is operating as an independent company. This season, we will continue strengthening beloved Latvian brands and investing in new product development. We highly value the trust of our clients in ensuring broad product availability already at the start of the season,” emphasises Kārlis Putriņš, Chairman of the Board at “Rīgas saldējuma fabrika”.

All nine new ice cream products have been developed under the guidance of the experienced ice cream masters at “Rīgas saldējuma fabrika”. The new products are available in major retail chains and smaller stores throughout Latvia.
