VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said on Friday that there was "nothing personal" in the decision not to invite Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis to Wednesday's meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the presidential palace in Vilnius.

"There was nothing personal here and I would suggest not making any big generalizations from this," Nauseda told reporters.

The president's office has said earlier that the meeting between the Lithuanian and Ukrainian leaders focused on military assistance and, therefore, Defense Minister Arvydas Anusauskas was invited to attend.

Nauseda said the same on Friday.

"With Zelensky, we talked about military aid and cooperation in strengthening the defense industry, so the defense minister simply better reflected the content of that meeting," he said.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Dmytro Kuleba was present at the meeting.
