The Lithuanian Parliament is inclined to raise the minimum legal alcohol drinking age to 20 starting next year. A final vote on the legislation is scheduled for June 1. The parliament also plans to confine alcohol sales during free public events to special zones, where the sale of drinks with an alcohol content of up to 7.5 per cent would be allowed. If approved, this measure will take effect in 2020.
