Latvian Music Information Centre launches a new online store with sheet music by Latvian composers

  • 2026-06-10

To enhance access to the works of Latvian composers, the Latvian Music Information Centre (LMIC) has launched an online sheet music store on its website. The platform offers a growing selection of previously unpublished works by Latvian composers registered in the LMIC database. While the compositions catalogue continues to expand, LMIC invites the world to explore the collection already available and discover the richness and diversity of Latvian musical creativity.

The LMIC sheet music store currently offers nearly one hundred scores by both celebrated Latvian classical composers and contemporary creators, and the list keeps growing week by week. Music professionals, performers, educators, and enthusiasts alike are warmly invited to explore the LMIC digital sheet music store and stay updated on the latest additions and news through its social media channels.

“The launch of the sheet music sales platform marks an important step in improving the accessibility and visibility of Latvian music. It also provides a structured framework for cataloguing Latvian composers’ scores and encourages composers to organise, update, and preserve their sheet music materials,” says composer Rolands Kronlaks, Chairman of the Board of the Latvian Composers’ Union, commenting on the LMIC’s new initiative.

This project has been made possible with the support of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) as part of its initiative to promote digital transformation. Through the project, LMIC has implemented a fully integrated e-commerce solution within the existing lmic.lv platform. The new module enables the online sale and digital distribution of sheet music published by LMIC, further supporting the organisation’s mission to promote Latvian music and make it more accessible to audiences, performers, and institutions worldwide.

The Latvian Music Information Centre (LMIC) collects, organises, and disseminates information about Latvian composers, their creative work, and developments within Latvia’s music scene. The organisation facilitates connections between international individuals and institutions and Latvian composers, performers, concert organisers, music publishers, and media representatives. LMIC represents Latvia at international music fairs, exhibitions, and industry events, and produces recordings, publications, and promotional materials dedicated to Latvian music. It maintains the largest online database of Latvian music and musicians, serving as a comprehensive resource for professionals and audiences alike. At the heart of LMIC’s activities are Latvian classical and contemporary music, its composers and performers, as well as the organisers and supporters who contribute to the country’s vibrant musical life. Since 2024, LMIC has also carried out state-delegated responsibilities aimed at fostering the development and international visibility of jazz music in Latvia.
