RIGA - Latvia is still a leader in drone production, said Elina Egle, Chairperson of the Board of the Latvian Federation of Security and Defense Industries (DAIF Latvija), in an interview with Latvian Radio on Tuesday.
She noted that Latvia is currently a leader in drone production. "We are a year ahead of many others," Egle said, adding that Latvia must maintain this leadership position in the future.
Egle also said that there is currently a very big boom in the military sector, but that these achievements will definitely trickle down to the wider economy after some time.
"We as a society need to understand that drones are here to stay, that drones are probably the next industrial revolution that is already on our doorsteps," said the federation's head.
DAIF Latvija was established in spring 2013. The federation is an organization representing the security and defense industry as well as research at national and international level. DAIF Latvija brings together 125 companies, educational and research institutions, as well as associate members.
