VILNIUS – Germany will deploy a Patriot long-range air defense system to Lithuania to help protect NATO's summit in Vilnius in mid-July, the country's defense ministry has said.
The ministry said in a statement on Friday that it would move its Patriot units from Slovakia and supporting elements from Poland to Lithuania.
Germany will also provide other land, air and sea-based assets to help secure the summit in Vilnius scheduled for July 11-12, according to the statement.
