The challenges of euro adoption lie in fulfilling the budget criterion

TALLINN-In a recent meeting between theEstonian and Latvian Prime Ministers, the two noted that regardless of thecurrent economic crisis, Estonia'saim is to adopt the euro as fast as possible.

Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansipsaid the challenges will lie in fulfilling the budget criterion.

Both Latvia and Estonia found the NATO summit successful for the Baltics, due to the amount of stressplaced on collective defense.

The support for Georgia and Ukraine remains high according toAnsip, and that "the success of the integration of thesecountries cannot be measured with economic indicators; above all, thedevelopment of democratic institutions must be observed there."
