Lithuania, EU ministers to discuss fight against disinformation in Brussels

VILNIUS – Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affair Linas Linkevicius and his foreign counterparts will discuss issues related to fighting disinformation in Brussels on Monday.

On December 5, 2018, the European External Action Service and the European Commission endorsed an anti-disinformation action plan, with Lithuania being its key initiator, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said.

On Monday, the EU Foreign Affairs Council will discuss the implementation of this action plan, will also speak about coordination, the application of good practices for fighting disinformation at the EU level, as well as the involvement of civil society and the media.

The meeting's agenda also includes issues related to the cooperation between the EU and the League of Arab States and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
