RIGA - Saeima speaker Edvards Smiltens (United List) is visiting Polish capital Warsaw to meet with Baltic and Polish counterparts, LETA learned from the Saeima press service.
Smiltens will participate in a meeting together with Elzbieta Witek from the parliament of Poland, Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen from the parliament of Lithuania, and Juri Ratas from the parliment of Estonia to discuss further cooperation directions at the time when European security systems are facing challenges.
The parties will also discuss regional cooperation instruments, including strengthening of NATO eastern flank and the Three Seas Initiative.
Speakers will also discuss the role of the parliament in international influence instrument strategies.
