Vilnius to host Ukraine support campaign ‘Sunflowers’

VILNIUS – A support campaign for Ukraine called ‘Saulegrazos’ (Sunflowers) will take place in the courtyard of the Tuskulenai Memorial Complex in Vilnius on Thursday.

“The flowers, planted this spring, have already matured, and we invite you to pick their blossoms. With this simple but meaningful action, let us honor all those who have sacrificed their lives for Ukraine’s freedom. They are fighting and dying not only for their own country – their sacrifice is protecting our freedom and peace across all of Europe,” Evaldas Gelumbauskas, spokesman for the Genocide and Resistance Research Center of Lithuania, said in a press release.

The event’s attendees are expected to include Olga Nikitchenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania, MP Zygimantas Pavilionis, Arunas Bubnys, head of the Genocide and Resistance Research Center of Lithuania, and Natalija Sertvytiene, chairperson of the Vilnius Ukrainian Community.
