Ukraine’s voice at Tallinn Digital Summit 2024: drone operators and military medicine

  • 2024-11-19

Estonia, the most developed European country in terms of digital services and e-government, hosts the Tallinn Digital Summit 2024, from the 19 to 20 of November. During this event politicians, government officials, representatives from international organizations, and the private sector are invited to show their new innovative solutions for a connected digital future, with a particular focus on defence and threat mitigation.

Among other speakers, Ukraine will be represented at this summit by Fedir Serdiuk, a Ukrainian entrepreneur and founder of humanitarian, medical, and defence projects. Fedir lives and works in Ukraine and is not attending international events frequently, with the exception of the World Economic Forum of Davos in 2022, NATO military medical conferences, and the Tallinn Digital Summit.

At the TDS, Serdiuk will share some lessons learned and experience from medical and defence projects he contributed to, highlighting these main topics:

- Blood transfusion and military medicine. How the Ukrainian defence community gain new lifesaving capacity, learning from the past and adapting for future challenges? Speaker’s quote: “The blood transfusion has not been an innovation since 1818. Preparing four brigades and a Special Forces unit to perform this procedure in the most difficult environment, close to the frontlines and from zero to hero – is.”

- Amateur fighting machine. How taxi drivers turn attack drone operators and garages turn drone assembly lines. A story from FPV-drone warfare Ukraine fights. Speaker’s quote: “One of the most impressive things I saw in my life is how people who were civilians a month ago become efficient and professional drone operators. The flexibility to change and adjust and, the ability to learn became a true superpower that helps us stand.”

Fedir Serdiuk is an entrepreneur, humanitarian, and advisor to Ukrainian Government institutions. He was nominated to Forbes 30-under-30 in Ukraine (2020) and Europe (2021). He’s an active participant of the World Economic Forum Community.

Most of the projects initiated by Fedir Serdiuk were focused on solving safety issues.

During Russia's large-scale invasion of Ukraine, Fedir stepped down from his civilian positions to contribute to Ukraine`s defence. His project PULSE is one of Europe's largest military medical training institutions with 30,000 soldiers, officers, and doctors trained in tactical and emergency medical programs. It also accomplished a frontline blood transfusion development project.

Besides military medicine, Fedir is active in the defence tech domain. In general, among his projects, besides PULSE:

– FAST, a private company that was founded in 2014 and now leads the Ukrainian market of first aid, emergency response, and HSE training and advisory services.

– HEAT, an international military medical company.

– Beta, a technological defense project that sets new standards in military training, equipping personnel with advanced knowledge and skills to successfully complete tasks on the battlefield.

MOWA, a company, dealing with training for foreign military and defense consulting to support partnerships between Ukrainian and European companies.

Fedir Serdiuk is available for interviews, either written or online.
