RIGA - When I first saw her, I could barely believe my eyes. She loomed over me, smiling coquettishly. Her pouting lips blew me a wry, gentle kiss. I stopped and looked up at her, dumbfounded by the sheer spectacle of it all. I had seen many things in my life, but never something quite like this.That was some three years ago. Since then I have seen her countless times on my way in and out of the Old Town. And, like so many familiar things, I'm afraid to say that I now take her utterly for granted.
