Having pondered moving to Australia, where her aunt lives, Doireann Mc Dermott, a journalist and anthropologist by profession, chose Riga instead. She has been incredibly grateful for the opportunity to learn the culture of Latvia and create long-lasting friendships. Doireann lived in Riga for three years, then moved to China, and then London before settling back in Riga.
