Man indicted for 30 murders in Riga

RIGA - A 26-year-old man admitted to charges that he allegedly killed 30 people - Latvia's worst serial killings in recent history - and added another name to the list in a Dec. 3 confession.The man, identified by the LETA news agency as Kaspars Petrovs, reportedly strangled or suffocated his victims, mostly elderly women, and then robbed them.The murders occurred all over the city of Riga.According to Dzintra Subrovska, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor General's Office, the total value of the stolen items was 18,000 lats (28,000 euros).He was first arrested on Feb. 3 on suspicion of having m...
