Baltics' Russians support United Russia, Motherland parties

RIGA-VILNIUS - Russian citizens living in the Baltics came out to vote en masse in the Dec. 7 State Duma elections, with the largest number of people voting in Estonia. Across all three Baltic states the United Russia and Motherland parties both received strong support, though the Communist Party, which suffered defeat in the poll (see story on Page 6) came in third.In Latvia over 9,300 Russian citizens visited one of three polling stations to vote in the Dec. 7 parliamentary elections, according to the Russian Embassy.
