Ten Pakistanis to be held until new year

RIGA - The 10 Pakistanis detained by boarder guards on Nov. 21 for allegedly lying on their visa applications to enter Latvia may be held until January while the State Security Police investigates suspected terrorist links.The Pakistanis, however, denied any such links, claiming they were victims of circumstance."We are not terrorists," the coach of the karate team, Muhammad Shafique Marllowe, told The Baltic Times.The Pakistanis came to Latvia to participate in a tae-kwon-do tournament but were prohibited from doing so due to their late arrival, Marllowe explained.Only one of the 10 Pakist...
