The U.S. Embassy in Tallinn again filed a request for building a security fence in front of the embassy building, located in the city center. The embassy claimed that, in addition to improved security, the zone would make the area more attractive for pedestrians. After the Sept. 11, 2001, tragedy the embassy received the right to close the street to automotive traffic by installing metal posts in the road.
