VILNIUS - As the Paksas administration continued to crumble, Gediminas Kirkilas, chairman of the parliamentary foreign affairs committee, told the ad hoc commission probing possible threats to national security that Alvydas Medalinskas, presidential foreign policy adviser, "repeatedly" overstepped his powers."The adviser can pursue policy only by giving advice but not by interfering in work of institution, in this case, the work of the Foreign Ministry.
