Paksas escapes to war zone

VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Rolandas Paksas and an accompanying delegation left for Iraq on Nov. 18 to visit Lithuanian troops serving there.The president left on a transport airplane that is also carrying logistical support to troops stationed in the country.The presidential delegation includes Defense Minister Linas Linkevicius and his spokeswoman Rita Grumadaite, the president's defense adviser Algirdas Norkus, defense attache of the U.S. Embassy in Lithuania Larry Beisel and an official of the secret service.Sources told the Baltic News Service that the president would fly to Iraq vi...
