Baltic-Nordic ties strengthen with new agreements

OSLO-VILNIUS - Nordic and Baltic states have come together to exchange information and build new agreements on issues ranging from banking to environmental protection as the prime ministers of these countries met in Oslo at the so-called NB8 meeting.In a crucial move toward strengthening the ties between the neighboring regions, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia were formally invited to become members of the Nordic Investment Bank, the information bureau of the Lithuanian government said Oct. 27.The invitation to join the bank, which functions as a multilateral financial institution that help...
