Estonian soldiers injured in Iraq

TALLINN - Three infantry soldiers in Estonia's Estpla-7 unit stationed in Baghdad were wounded on the morning of Oct. 16 on a routine patrol assignment when an unknown combatant threw a hand grenade at the patrol. The attack injured an Iraqi interpreter as well as the Estonian soldiers.Although the headquarters of the Estonian Defense Forces stated that the injuries were not life threatening, one of the injured soldiers remained under medical observation as of Oct. 18.One of the three men suffered injuries in his face, the other in his leg and the third in his groin.
