Finance minister resigns amid fraud probe

TALLINN - Finance Minister Tonis Palts resigned last week under the pressure from the Tax Board, which has been probing business interests he had before being brought on board the Cabinet.Palts filed his resignation on the morning of Sept. 18, referring to the Tax Board investigation and incessant media attacks."I've been considering this decision for the last two months, but it was impossible to leave when the state budget was under development.
