AFP BRUSSELS - With Germany, Italy and the Netherlands in recession and economists saying there is slim hope for recovery by the end of the year, the 12-nation euro-zone economy is falling farther behind the United States and Japan.After dismal Italian numbers were released last week and confirmation that the economies of Germany and the Netherlands were continuing to contract, the European Commission underscored the gloom with a forecast of third-quarter growth in the euro zone at 0.4 percent at best.The commission, the European Union's executive arm, did not even rule out the risk of stag...
