Cabinet signs pro-EU statement

TALLINN - Widespread damage from the Center Party vote was nipped in the bud on Aug. 12, when the Cabinet of Ministers added their signature to a joint statement by President Arnold Ruutel, speaker of Parliament Ene Ergma and Prime Minister Juhan Parts that calls on all citizens to back Estonia's accession to the European Union. "The statement was signed by all the ministers who were present at the government sitting" on Aug. 12, the prime minister told reporters after the meeting.
