RIGA - Following an investigation that the Latvian State Police carried out after receiving a tip on a case of human trafficking last autumn, a man was detained on July 22 at Riga International Airport in an apparent attempt to whisk off three young women to work as prostitutes in Tel Aviv, police reported.This is the first time Latvian police have broken up a trafficking scheme to Israel, police spokeswoman Kristine Mezaraupe said.Even though the man has not been prosecuted in Latvia before, 32-year-old Mihail has been trafficking women to Israel and Germany for some time, according to inf...
