VILNIUS - Two pilots who sought to retrace the historic route flown by Lithuanian legends Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas have landed safely in Kaunas after a double trans-Atlantic adventure that lasted several weeks.Viktoras Ramonas and Gintautas Staniulis, both members of the Kaunas Flight Club, successfully completed their round-trip voyage on July 19 after almost a month of flying in a Piper Twin-Comanche aircraft that had no remote communications system or de-icing equipment.The two pilots took off from Kaunas on June 20 and arrived in New York 16 days later after encountering adver...
