Government to raise immigration quota

TALLINN (BNS) - The Estonian government at press time planned to raise this year's immigration quota on Nov. 2 to issue a residence permit to pharmaceuticals factory Tallinna Farmaatsiatehas Board Chairwoman Yelena Bortsova. From Latvia, she possesses extensive experience and knowledge in the production of medicines and is thus needed here for the development of research and the economy, records show.Bortsova, the CEO of the drug maker since March, is the 16th alien this year for whom the government will make an exception.
