RIGADomestic pork market protection measures, which take effect on July 3, have provoked sharp criticism from Lithuania and will embroil the two neighbors into intense debate, if not a major trade war. The Lithuanian Agriculture Ministry announced that, should it decide not to accept Latvia's new duties on pork, Vilnius could adopt appropriate countermeasures as early as this month.
