DRUGS IN DENMARK: A Danish court sentenced seven sailors from a Lithuanian ship to jail terms of 18 to 21 months for smuggling narcotics into Denmark. Their vessel was detained at a dock some 100 kilometers west of Copenhagen in mid-April this year after 12 tons of hashish were found aboard, the largest amount of drugs ever detained in Denmark. They are estimated to be worth 280 million litas ($70 million) on the black market. Danish police will try to prove that the owner of the ship, Piotr Kosenko, 40, is also connected with the smuggling. If found guilty, Kosenko could be sentenced to 1...
