DRUGS IN DENMARK: A Danish court sentenced seven sailors from a Lithuanian ship to jail terms of 18 to 21 months for smuggling narcotics into Denmark. Their vessel was detained at a dock some 100 kilometers west of Copenhagen in mid-April this year after 12 tons of hashish were found aboard, the largest amount of drugs ever detained in Denmark. They are estimated to be worth 280 million litas ($70 million) on the black market.
