RIGAAs the 48th Eurovision Song Contest drew closer to its kick-off time, Latvia's capital pulsated with excitement and anxiety in anticipation of Europe's biggest television event.Along with more than 1,100 accredited journalists from various international news organizations, crowds of tourists have been descending on Riga throughout the week to experience the May 24 event that last year attracted a television audience of 160 million.This year, 6,000 people will watch the 4.5 million lat (6.28 million euros) production live at the contest venue, Skonto Hall, with thousands more watching on...
