New health minister lists priorities

RIGAIngrida Circene, Latvia's new health minister, said she needs 30 million lats (47.6 million euros) to increase doctors' salaries and thereby complete one of the ministry's most urgent priorities in the country's health care system.Speaking last week at her first press conference, Circene said that legislation, patients' rights, health care availability and optimization of the existing system would also be top priorities.
