Investigation in mail contract continues

RIGAThe Transport and Justice ministries are continuing their investigation into a multimillion lat contract for the construction of a new mail sorting complex that was recently canceled by the government after allegations of graft surfaced. According to the contract Latvijas Pasts (Latvian Post) concluded late last year with the firm NIA for the construction of a high-tech mail sorting complex, Latvijas Pasts would have to pay NIA a fine of 507,000 lats (739,000 euros) upon cancellation of the contract Technically, however, the 10.14 million lat contract signed between Latvian Post and NIA...
