U.S. recognizes Lithuania's economy

VILNIUSThe U.S. Department of Commerce has accepted a government memorandum recommending that the Lithuanian and Estonian economies be considered officially free-market, a status that will help the countries in trade disputes.The status was declared Feb. 28.
