Concordia could face bankruptcy

TALLINNThese are tough times for Concordia International Univers-ity. Concordia, the largest private university in Estonia, is dangerously close to declaring bankruptcy because of the institution's 4.6 million kroon (295,000 euro) tax debt and liabilities that exceed 25 million kroons.Concordia had hoped that a merger with Tallinn Pedagogical University, a major state-owned university, would save the private institution from its debts, but TPU announced on March 6 that it would not acquire Concordia because of the institution's financial situation.A special commission formed by TPU announce...
