Latvians luge to first ever medals

SIGULDAThe World Luge Championships, held on Feb. 21 - 23, brought a couple of delightful surprises for the home crowd, as four Latvians managed to grab a total of two silver medals. Martins Rubenis, Anna Orlova, Zigmars Berkolds and Sandris Berzins bestowed the country with its first ever world championship luge medal - a team competition judged on the basis of consistency in the men's and women's singles' runs combined with the men's doubles.
