Despite scandal, Eurovision prep on schedule

RIGASpeculation around the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 picked up a notch this week, as a Latvian publication wrote that Arvids Babris, executive producer of Eurovision 2003, had almost been fired in accordance with the European Broadcasting Union's wish.According to the Latvian Privata Dzive article, after meeting with Babris two weeks ago, Juhan Paadam, last year's Eurovision organizer in Estonia and this year's consultant, allegedly asked Latvian Television's general director Uldis Grava to decrease Babris' authority in staging the event.However, in the magazine's words, the EBU represen...
