Lithuania remembers tragedy

VILNIUSAll Lithuania mourned its losses and celebrated its victory Jan. 13 on the 12th anniversary of the bloody confrontation between armed Soviet forces and defenseless Lithuanians. To mark the historic event, several hundred people carrying Lithuanian flags gathered around bonfires near Parliament, just as they did 12 years ago, while nearby military formations paraded in full colors.
