Lithuanians to participate in UN mission

VILNIUS (BNS) - Ten Lithuanian police officers left for Kosovo on Aug. 16 to take part in a United Nations civil mission in the Serb province. The final destination of Lithuanian officers is still unclear. The decision will be made at the UN police headquarters in Pristina.Five out of the 10 police officers participated in earlier UN missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and eastern Slovenia.A memorandum signed between Lithuania and UN states that Lithuania should have 20 civil police officers ready for action.Lithuania has prepared 27 officials who were trained at special sessions in Sweden...
