ARIOGALA - Approximately 40,000 former resistance members, political prisoners and deportees arrived in the small central Lithuanian town of Ariogala to take part in the ninth annual "meeting of freedom fighters" on Aug. 7. Fighters in the guerrilla war waged against Soviet forces, and those who were repressed by the Soviets, met their colleagues from partisan units and concentration camps.
