The equal opportunities ombudsman service began work in April this year. Lithuania is the only country of Central and Eastern Europe that has an official institution concerned with equal opportunities for both sexes.Ausrine Burneikiene, whose official title is ombudsman of equal opportunities, heads this service. She says that her office has already received three complaints about sexual harassment.According to her, this shows that Lithuanians are aware of their rights.
