Kubilius' new government approved

VILNIUS - Following heated debates Nov. 11, Parliament approved the new Conservative-led government of Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius.Before the question came to a vote, the opposition criticized the ruling Conservatives for Lithuania's difficult economic situation. Especially harsh criticism came from the Labor Democratic Party."Conservatives like to repeat that during LDDP rule, Lithuania was struck by the bank crisis in 1995. However, Lithuania's GDP was growing in our times [from 1992 to 1996]. The prognosis for this year's GDP is negative, but Conservatives speak about a 'pre-crisis' ...
