Diphtheria cases triple, deaths rise

RIGA - Health authorities want the public to get their diphtheria shots following a rise in deaths from the highly contagious disease."We are very worried about the high fatality rate; 15 percent of all people who become infected die because of the disease," said Aija Griskevica of the National Environment Health Center.
