RIGA (BNS) - The National Security Council has apparently overlooked controversial comments about last year's synagogue bombing by intelligence chief Lainis Kamaldins, but the Parliament may not be as forgiving.The council renominated Kamaldins as head of the Constitutional Protection Office, Latvia's top intelligence organization, but the Latvian Social Democratic Alliance and the For Human Rights in a United Latvia factions have said they will not support him.Kamaldins' term in office expires April 12.
